If you love coffee and chocolate, this quick recipe is for you. This Coffee Chocolate Nice Cream takes only 10 minutes and three simple ingredients. It is a delicious, healthy alternative to store-bought dairy-free chocolate ice cream that you can make right in your blender.
Why This Dairy Free Chocolate Ice Cream is Great for Midlife Women
During perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause, hormonal shifts can change how your body handles food. Making your own dairy-free chocolate ice cream is an easy way to satisfy cravings without a blood sugar crash.
- Easier on digestion
Fluctuating estrogen levels can make your digestive system more sensitive. While traditional dairy can cause bloating and gas, this banana-based dairy-free chocolate ice cream is highly digestible and gentle on your gut.
- Helps manage mood and sleep
Bananas and pure cacao are naturally high in magnesium. This mineral helps calm the nervous system, supports muscle recovery, and promotes better sleep quality.
- No blood sugar crashes
Estrogen drops can trigger intense sugar cravings. This healthy chocolate ice cream satisfies your sweet tooth using natural sugars from fruit, keeping your energy levels stable.

You do not need an expensive ice cream maker or hours of prep time to enjoy a frozen dessert that fits your dietary goals. Let’s get blending!

Coffee Chocolate Nice Cream
- Prep Time: 5 minutes
- Cook Time: 10 minutes
- Total Time: 15 minutes
- Yield: 2 servings 1x
Description
For all our coffee enthusiasts out there, we’ve brewed up a treat that combines the rich, bold flavors of coffee with the decadence of chocolate. This bowl of banana ice cream requires just three ingredients!
Ingredients
2 ripe frozen bananas
2 tbsp cacao or cocoa powder
1–2 tsp coffee powder (or sub a small amount of chilled brewed coffee – add slowly to avoid making the nice cream watery)
Optional: Unsweetened nut milk as needed for preferred consistency
Instructions
- Blend: In a high-speed blender or food processor, combine the frozen ripe bananas, cacao powder, and coffee. Blend on high until the mixture achieves a creamy and smooth consistency. If your blender encounters resistance, introduce a splash of unsweetened nut milk to facilitate blending. Exercise caution to avoid making the nice cream too runny.
- Adjust to Taste: Adjust the flavor to your liking by adding more cocoa or cacao powder for a chocolate boost, or sprinkle in additional coffee powder for an intensified coffee flavor.
- Enjoy!
Notes
Freeze for Future Pleasures: If there are leftovers, consider freezing them in ice cube or popsicle molds. Stored properly, these frozen delights can last up to a month in the freezer, though they are undoubtedly at their best when enjoyed fresh.
